Physically challenged demand 75% concession in train ticket fare
  • Physically challenged persons, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers (TARATDAC), staged a demonstration here on Tuesday to highlight their demands, which included 75% concession in ticket fare in all trains .


ICG rescues five stranded fishermen
  • Sources in the ICG said the fishermen ventured into the sea from Terespuram on the country boat owned by Kenson of Poobalarayarpuram on Saturday. As the engine of the boat developed a technical snag in the small hours of Monday, the fishermen got stranded 20 nautical miles away from the coast
Life convict gets two-day leave

  • National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) chairman Nand Kumar Sai on Tuesday directed the police to investigate the alleged involvement of forest officials in the assault on Madhu, a tribal youth at Attappady, who later succumbed to his injurie .Kodiyeri says Chief Minister will visit Attappady on March 2 .
Kerala, TN to operate more inter-State services
  • The Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 89 more inter-State services on 49 routes to Tamil Nadu and the latter’s transport utility will operate 54 more services on 30 routes to Kerala .

Facebook removes Myanmar monk’s page
  • Facebook has removed the page of Myanmarese monk Wirathu for his incendiary posts about Muslims, the company confirmed, as it faces pressure to clamp down on hate speech.
