Union Minister launches Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat in Gujarat
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan launchedPradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat at Mota Ishanpur villagein Gandhinagar district of Gujarat.
Around one lakh, Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayats would be organized across the country in next one and half year to provide an interactive platform to the rural LPG users.
He also inaugurated the Skill Development Institute at Adalaj near Ahmedabad as part of National Skill Development Mission.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch 'Power for all' scheme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches 'Power for all' scheme to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The scheme is expected to cover all rural families after expected electrification of all villages by December end this year.
He inaugurates Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) new corporate office that was renamed Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Urja Bhawan from Rajiv Gandhi Urja Bhawan.
The green-building built at a cost of Rs. 600 crore was completed a year ago.
Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurates “Hunar Haat” in Puducherry
Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is working to establish “Hunar Hub” across the country to provide a platform to master artisans and craftsmen to display as well sell their products.
The 'Hunar Haat' is being organised at Craft Bazaar, Gandhi Thidal Beach, Goubert Avenue and will continue till September 30 in which master artisans from 16 states including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, New Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland and Andhra Pradesh will be showcasing their traditional talent.
They prepared an E-Portal to provide national as well as international markers to artisans and craftsmen from across the country.
A data bank of artisans and craftsmen will be prepared by this year-end, thousands of artisans from various parts of the country have already been registered.
Uttar Pradesh Government to release 100 prisoners on birth centenary of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya
Uttar Pradesh government will release 100 inmates from various jails of the state to mark the birth centenary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The prisoners will be released from Lucknow, Varanasi, Faizabad, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Naini, Aligarh, Banda, Mirzapur, Orai, Hardoi, Maharajganj, Bahraich, Saharanpur and Gorakhpur jails, Bareilly, Varanasi, Agra, Fatehgarh, Naini and Gorakhpur jails.

China bans export of key petroleum products to North Korea
China ban exports of some petroleum products to North Korea and as well as imports of textiles from the isolated North, in line with a UN Security Council resolution, passed after Pyongyang’s latest nuclear test.
The USA and South Korea are technically still at war with North Korea because the 1950-53 Korean conflict ended with a truce and not a peace treaty.

Sports Ministry Recommends P.V. Sindhu for Padma Bhushan Award
Olympic silver medallist shuttler P.V. Sindhu recommended for the prestigious Padma Bhushan, country’s third highest civilian award, by the Sports Ministry.
She is two-time bronze medallist at World Championship.
She was awarded India’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri.
She becomes the first Indian to win the Korea Open Superseries.

CNR Rao selected for 2017 Von Hippel Award
Eminent Scientist and Bharat Ratna Prof C.N.R. Rao awarded as 2017 Von Hippel Award, the highest international prize in materials research.
The award will be presented to Prof Rao for his interdisciplinary contributions to the development of novel functional materials, including nanomaterials graphene, superconductivity, 2D materials and colossal magnetoresistance at Boston.
He is an eminent scientist and world’s foremost solid state and materials chemists. He has worked mainly in solid-state and structural chemistry.
The award recognizes those qualities most prized by materials scientists and engineers brilliance and originality of intellect, combined with vision.

Australia announces new space agency to develop domestic space industry
Australia will establish a national space agency as part of long-term plan to develop the country’s domestic space industry.
Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham made the announcement at the International Astronautical Congress.
The global space industry sector has been growing at a compound annual growth rate of 9.52 percent from 1998 to 2015.
Globally, revenue from space-related activities in 2015 was about US$323 and the five-day Congress is expected to draw more than 4,000 space professionals, including astronauts, engineers, scientists, and innovators, from all over the world.

Angela Merkel Wins 4th Term as Chancellor of Germany
Angela Merkel won a fourth term as chancellor in Germany elections that lifted the far-right party Alternative for Germany into parliament for the first time since the immediate aftermath World War II.
Her nearest rivals, the Social Democrats, and their candidate Martin Schulz came in the second position with a post-war record low 20.8 percent.
